What we keep. What we don't.

Draft. Not legal advice. Will be reviewed by counsel before the public launch.

The short version

Your morning ritual belongs to you. By default, what you write stays on your device. We only keep on our servers what you explicitly ask us to keep, and only for as long as it serves you.

What is stored

  • Account basics: email, display name, timezone, optional location coordinates (only if you've asked for prayer times or sunrise-aware delivery).
  • Morning declarations: saved to your archive so you can look back at the road walked.
  • Afternoon releases: by default, NOT kept. The act of writing is the release. If you opt to keep an archive, only a short optional summary is stored — never the raw text.
  • Evening mind flushes: by default, stay on your device. If you turn on proactive assistance, a server-side structured summary (people mentioned, commitments, themes) is stored so the assistant can act on it. Raw stream-of-consciousness text is never stored server-side unless you explicitly opt in.
  • Subscription state: mirrored from Polar.sh so we can show your active micro-apps. No payment details touch our servers.

Religious information

Under GDPR, religious belief is a special-category personal data. We treat it as such: never required, always opt-in, granular (you can enable prayer times without enabling calendar acknowledgments or vice versa), and erasable at a click. We never use your tradition for marketing, targeting, or analytics segmentation.

Children

HappyNew.Day is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Your controls

  • Export: one button in Settings. All your archive, as JSON.
  • Delete: one button in Settings. Account and all rows, gone within 7 days.
  • Correct: edit any of the above directly in Settings.
  • Object to processing: email us and we'll stop.

Processors we use

Supabase (database, auth), Polar.sh (payments), Paperclip (AI agent orchestration), and an email provider for the daily dispatch. Each is contractually bound to use your data only to run HappyNew.Day.
